Bohemian Spring

Unlike the beautiful weather that was listed in my last post, this week has been full of cold rainy weather..bah humbug :(  However, that does not stop me from daydreaming about the upcoming Spring weather and all of the comfortable, cute clothes that are in store for Spring.  I love the Boho style because it's so simplistic, yet chic. Here are a few looks for Spring that have caught my eye.  Oldies but goodies...they will never go out of style. (You know you have add a fabulous pair of wooden heeled platforms and a few pair of bell bottom jeans:)

I'm off to LA this weekend and I hope to do a ton of Vintage shopping.  I'll post what I come up with when I return.  Until then XXXOOO!

Game Day

In case you are wondering about the title, I wore this outfit out with one of my girlfriends to watch the Superbowl on Sunday.  I'm JUST now (obviously) getting around to posting it.  So, I'm a few days late..but nonetheless,  I promised to do a post with the Jessica Simpson ridng boot..well, I don't know if it's really a riding boot it sure looks like one to me.  I love this top!  It has an sorta 80's feel to it and it's kinda long so I tie it up on the side to really give it that flash dance kinda feel to it..the pretty colored sequins is what attracted me to this top, they kinda remind me of peacock feathers.

Thank you Jessica!

No excuses, I suck!  Well, I finally snagged one of my sons to take a few pictures of me, so please pardon the quality.  These Jessica Simpson shoes arrived in the mail last week and I fell even more in love with them, so much that I ordered the tan pair.  (ssshhhh!) Can't let my alter ego know about this.  She has been trying to be more um, "fiscally" responsible.  I'm trying to get on board with that idea, but you know if you find something you like, you just HAVE to get them in every color.  Right?  OK, ok. I must say that I'm actally a fan of Jessica's shoe/boot line.  I came across a pair of really cute pair of JS riding boots a couple of weeks ago at Nordstorm Rack for a ridiculously low price..I will eventually do an outfit post with them.

The dress I'm wearing is one that I absolutely love!  It's sheer, as you can see and I'm a fass (as my mother used to say) mama, so if it's sheer, I'm all over it!  LOL!

Shoes, shoes and more shoes!

Hello fabulous folks!  I've slacked off on updating my blog as often as I use to, but hey life happens so what can I do?  Ok, ok..so I've been searching around for some cute shoes to buy.  I'm really looking for sale prices but of course the shoes I want are never on sale.  I did make a purchase that I'm excited about, they weren't on sale but they are so cute I just had to buy them right now.  These Jessica Simpson shoes made me lose my breath when I saw them.  You know I love the wooden heel, it's a nod to my favorite era the 70's:)  I'm waiting with bells or should I say bell bottoms on until they arrive.  I promise to do an outfit post when I get them!

Now these shoes from TopShop I want badly but I really want them to go on sale.  I keep going back and looking at them.  I know me and I know if they don't go on sale fairly soon I'm going to just get them.  I'm a little hesitant because they ship from the UK and I'm not sure how much of  hassle it's going to be to return them if they don't fit properly.  I love the stitching on the top of the shoe and the overall retro feel.
The following shoes are ones that I just think are cute. I'm not realllly thinking about purchasing them just yet.  Although I do need a haute red shoe!

Thoughtful Co-Worker

I know, I know, I couldn't come up with a catchy, creative title so it is exactly what it is.  Anywho, I was meandering around my room trying to straighten it up and put things in there place!  *sigh* because I have a small room and it just seems like it get's out of control so quick!  As I was  looking around, my eyes landed on a box that contains a cute, cute pair of shoes that my coworker gave me.  Shout out to Socorro!  She asked me one day what size shoe do I wear, I told her and next thing I knew she brought these shoes in!  They are vintage Caressa's and are in the original box..Socorro and I both have a love for vintage clothing and  can sit and talk for long periods of time about our thrifting adventures and what we found.  I have yet to wear them but I do reallly, really love them!  Look, aren't they cute?! Oh, by the way these weren't vintage when she purchased them..she bought them new and held on to them all this time!  (waiting for me to come in to her life:0) Hehehe...

70's Child

I know I've mentioned before that I am a self proclaimed 70's child.  I seriously love just about everything from the 70's, the music, the clothing and I have a huge collection of those "blaxploitation" movies.  I just love it! I'm always on the lookout for items from this era when I'm out thrifting. I've even thought about growing an afro, but that might be taking a little bit to far..hmm?  I found these items while surfing tonight..

Halston Jumper (sorry, don't remember the site)

Chiffon top and bottoms

I found these Ulf Andersson pants on a recent thrifting jaunt.  They are super cute but super long on me.  I'm only 5"2, so I'll have to have them altered.  Can't wait to wear them this spring!  Do you identify with a certrain era when it comes to your style of dress?  If so, which?

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hello fabulous folks!  I know it's been a while, I've just been busy with the holidays and family.  With the start of the new year though, you know there is some reflecting to be done.  I've looked back over the last few years, not just the past year and of course hindsight is 20/20:) I've made some decisions and changes in my life that I'm so happy about!  Some things that I should have, could have done a long time ago and just didn't.  I'm excited about what this year has in store for me! I appreciate y'all for sticking with me and I promise to be back with more fashion real soon!

Working it for work

I thought I'd do another outfit post since I'm lagging on updating.  This is what I wore to work today.  I love the detail in this dress and it's so 70's, which is my favorite era. Now that I look at the scarf on my wrist, it seems a little distracting..hmm?

Mini Outfit Post

Hey y'all!  Wow, I feel like I've been MIA around these parts!  I've been busy with work and finishing up my portfolio for my photography class that was due yesterday. I kind of procrastinated with the portfolio so I was working like a mad woman trying to get everything done.  I even had to work on it in class yesterday but I did finally get it finished.  Anyway, I woke up today and my eye felt like it had something in it and it was watering like crazy, not to mention that my poor nose is running as well and I'm starting to feel a little under the weather:(  I had to go see the doctor to make sure it wasn't Pink Eye (yuck)..this is what I threw on.  It's nothing special but I did say I would post my JC boots..so here ya go.

Grey long sleeve Tee (Charlotte Russe)

Fly Girl

Ever since I was a little girl I've always loved Poncho's!  Over the past few years I've collected a few here and there but it's been hard because they were not "in style."  As of late I've seen quite a few fabulous Poncho's and Capes and I couldn't be happier.  The Poncho is more casual and can't be worn with everything, while the Cape can be a little more glamourous & sophisticated, especially with a nice pair of gloves as pictured below on Ms. Carrie Bradshaw. And if you are anything like me they will never go out of style, because as long as I still like it, it's in style, my style.   A nice add to your wardrobe:)

My Diamond

I thought I would introduce you all to someone very near and dear to me:)  I don't know how I didn't mention her in my Guilty Pleasures because she is my absolutely one of my guilty pleasures..Her name is Diamond and she is my six year old Yorkie.  Don't let her pics fool you, she is real bad and real spoiled..LOL!  Let me say that I was blessed with three wonderful boys who I also LOVE and ADORE but I wanted a daughter without actually having to give birth to one...so the next best thing I could do and afford at the time was purchase myself a lil Diamond...she was 5wks old when I bought her.  She was soooo little, she even got stepped on a cpl of times (whew!) Keep in mind there were three boys in the house who were not use to a lil puppy being around..I screamed, shouted and cussed more times than I can remember about them being EXTRA careful!!!

It took the boys sometime to get use to a lil foo-foo puppy around the house.  They wanted a pit bull or a rotweiller or something crazy like that..but now they so lovingly refer to Diamond as their little sister..hahaha!  Look at this lil face, how could you not love her???

I gave in....

So, I've been lusting after the Jeffrey Campbell Potion Bootie for a couple of months now.  Over the weekend I'd look at them, place them in my cart then back out, then get completely off of my computer as to not be tempted to go look at them again and again only to back out of actually purchasing them...over and over..LOL!  Finally I came up with a logical explanation as to why I should purchase this bootie...simply because I wanted to.  Hell, I work hard for my money!

Holidays

The holidays are approaching sooooo fast!  I don't usually do holiday parties but this season I'm thinking about getting out and shaking a tail feather... LOL!! I always cook for the holidays but I don't do anything big or extravagant; it's usually me and my three boys but I always cook enough for people that just happened to be in the neighborhood and just had to stop by... Do any of you do the entertaining?  Is it usually something with close friends and family or do you do a big bash?    Do you dress up or just chill? Do you already have a holiday outfit picked out??   Below are some cute little numbers that would be just fabulous for the holidays.

Fabulous Fall Sweater Dresses

It's getting a little cool outside and for some reason lately when I think about shopping, the first thing that pops in to my head are sweater dresses. Sweater dresses never seem to go out of style and would make a fabulous "Must Have" for your wardrobe.

I love all of these, especially the DianeVon Furstenberg with the two different sleeves!  FABULOUS!
