Working it for work

I thought I'd do another outfit post since I'm lagging on updating.  This is what I wore to work today.  I love the detail in this dress and it's so 70's, which is my favorite era. Now that I look at the scarf on my wrist, it seems a little distracting..hmm?

Mini Outfit Post

Hey y'all!  Wow, I feel like I've been MIA around these parts!  I've been busy with work and finishing up my portfolio for my photography class that was due yesterday. I kind of procrastinated with the portfolio so I was working like a mad woman trying to get everything done.  I even had to work on it in class yesterday but I did finally get it finished.  Anyway, I woke up today and my eye felt like it had something in it and it was watering like crazy, not to mention that my poor nose is running as well and I'm starting to feel a little under the weather:(  I had to go see the doctor to make sure it wasn't Pink Eye (yuck)..this is what I threw on.  It's nothing special but I did say I would post my JC boots..so here ya go.

Fly Girl

Ever since I was a little girl I've always loved Poncho's!  Over the past few years I've collected a few here and there but it's been hard because they were not "in style."  As of late I've seen quite a few fabulous Poncho's and Capes and I couldn't be happier.  The Poncho is more casual and can't be worn with everything, while the Cape can be a little more glamourous & sophisticated, especially with a nice pair of gloves as pictured below on Ms. Carrie Bradshaw. And if you are anything like me they will never go out of style, because as long as I still like it, it's in style, my style.   A nice add to your wardrobe:)

My Diamond

I thought I would introduce you all to someone very near and dear to me:)  I don't know how I didn't mention her in my Guilty Pleasures because she is my absolutely one of my guilty pleasures..Her name is Diamond and she is my six year old Yorkie.  Don't let her pics fool you, she is real bad and real spoiled..LOL!  Let me say that I was blessed with three wonderful boys who I also LOVE and ADORE but I wanted a daughter without actually having to give birth to one...so the next best thing I could do and afford at the time was purchase myself a lil Diamond...she was 5wks old when I bought her.  She was soooo little, she even got stepped on a cpl of times (whew!) Keep in mind there were three boys in the house who were not use to a lil puppy being around..I screamed, shouted and cussed more times than I can remember about them being EXTRA careful!!!

It took the boys sometime to get use to a lil foo-foo puppy around the house.  They wanted a pit bull or a rotweiller or something crazy like that..but now they so lovingly refer to Diamond as their little sister..hahaha!  Look at this lil face, how could you not love her???

I gave in....

So, I've been lusting after the Jeffrey Campbell Potion Bootie for a couple of months now.  Over the weekend I'd look at them, place them in my cart then back out, then get completely off of my computer as to not be tempted to go look at them again and again only to back out of actually purchasing them...over and over..LOL!  Finally I came up with a logical explanation as to why I should purchase this bootie...simply because I wanted to.  Hell, I work hard for my money!

Holidays

The holidays are approaching sooooo fast!  I don't usually do holiday parties but this season I'm thinking about getting out and shaking a tail feather... LOL!! I always cook for the holidays but I don't do anything big or extravagant; it's usually me and my three boys but I always cook enough for people that just happened to be in the neighborhood and just had to stop by... Do any of you do the entertaining?  Is it usually something with close friends and family or do you do a big bash?    Do you dress up or just chill? Do you already have a holiday outfit picked out??   Below are some cute little numbers that would be just fabulous for the holidays.

Fabulous Fall Sweater Dresses

It's getting a little cool outside and for some reason lately when I think about shopping, the first thing that pops in to my head are sweater dresses. Sweater dresses never seem to go out of style and would make a fabulous "Must Have" for your wardrobe.

I love all of these, especially the DianeVon Furstenberg with the two different sleeves!  FABULOUS!

10 Must Haves

There are certain things that every lady must have in her closet.  I've found for me, the following ten things are "must haves" for me;  A boyfriend blazer, pencil skirt, tanks, classic black pump,a pair of black boots, a nice trouser, classic trench coat, a white button up, a nice dark denim jean, and last but not least, a lil black dress.  You can mix and match these items to come up with numerous outfits for any occasion.

My Brazilian shoe size..a mini post

Hey fabulous folks! I just wanted to share with you a purchase that I made.  I bought this fabulous shoe online from Aldo.  Now, I own several pairs of Aldo boots/shoes and they are all a size 37 (US 7).  I get these in the mail the other day and I'm super excited, can't wait to wear them, try them on or should I say, squeeeeeezzzzeeeee my foot in to them,  they were to small!
I call Aldo and was advised if the shoe says it's made in Brazil (which this was) they usually run small. Well it does not say where the shoe is made when purchasing online but no worries, I was able to return the shoe to my local mall and they are going to have my "Brazil" size shipped to me from San Francisco because none of the stores in Sacramento carry this shoe:( So keep in mind about this Brazilian sizing if you ever purchase a shoe from Aldo.

I must say though that Aldo's customer service was EXCELLENT!
(Just fabulous, isn't it:)

My trip to my once favorite flea market

Well, as promised I told you all I would let you know what I came across at the Berkeley Flea Market.  It had been a little while since I'd been and boy had things changed.  Needless to say, I couldn't fine one good vintage booth and was very dissapointed that all of the jewelry booths had pretty much the same jewelry.  Not a lot of variety. Here are some of the things worth mentioning that I purchased.

These were handmade by a very talented young lady named Kalia.  She approached me as I was walking around and asked if I liked accessories, but of course (LOL) So I followed her over to where her jewelry was and I was quite impressed.  If I go back to the flea market, it would  strictly be to see what this young lady has.

These were also handmade from seashells by a young man...didn't get his name but he also had some pretty cool jewelry.

This was purchased at a random booth at the market...Not a very good pic but I love the ring. It has a vintage feel to it.

Just me...a mini post

I purchased these Michael Kors clogs last year and couldn't wait to put them on again this Fall. Today was the perfect day for them. They are one of my favorites because they are SO  very comfortable.

Leggings.....yes, they are back!

Leggings or as me and my girls use to call them, "stretch pants" have made a comeback.  I, for one am kind of glad to see them back.  They are super comfy and you can easily dress them up or down.  Now, I personally would not wear them with anything that doesn't cover the butt.  Although I try to accentuate my butt whenever I can because I think it's kinda cute..LOL!  Trying to accentuate it however with leggings/stretch pants or whatever you want to call them...ehhh, not so much. I pulled together a few   looks if you are wondering what to do with these leggings/stretch pants or whatever you want to call them.

(I'm off to my favorite Berkeley Flea Market to do some Vintage shopping...I'll let you guys know what I find!!)

Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize!

It's no secret that I LOVE accesories!  I also love "Gaudy" rings, necklaces & earrings..I just do!  I am a firm believer that with a good statement piece you can dress up an otherwise plain outfit.  Below are some really cute pieces I've come across.

Sweater Hunt!

Aptly named title because I have none!  Well, ok I have a few but every season it seems I look in my closet and wonder, "what in the world did I wear last year this time?"  So, I get up this morning, play hookie from church and find my way to the mall.  I come home with ONE sweater!!  It wasn't a complete waste, I did find a few pairs of leggings and some very cute accessories.  I come home and get on the internet and see all KINDS of cute sweaters..do they only carry cute sweaters online?  AARRGH!!

The very first sweater is the one I ended up coming home with.  The rest of the items are ones that I will eventually come home with.
